Overview

Membership to the Public Interest Technology Group (PITG) is no longer open. Only current members can nominate people to join the group.

Process

  1. If you are currently a member of the PITG, you can write to [email protected] to nominate someone to the group. Please include their name and brief biography (2-3 lines are sufficient), and CC the individual in the email.

  2. The co-chairs will forward the individual’s bio to the list. Current pitg members will have a week to express any objections to the individual’s potential membership in pitg.

  3. Members’ objections may relate to the individual having exhibited behaviour that would violate our code of conduct, or continued engagement in activity that antithetical to the group’s mission of technology in the public interest. If an objection is raised, the membership application will be paused for a discussion.

  4. If no objections are expressed, the individual will be added to the pitg list.
